HUBUNGAN INTENSITAS PENCAHAYAAN DAN PENATAAN KAMAR DENGAN TINGKAT KONSENTRASI BELAJAR DI RUMAH KOS PUTRI KAJOR, NOGOTIRTO, GAMPING, SLEMAN, YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Boarding houses rent rooms for temporary stays. For students who living far from parents these places are their second home because almost of their activities are carried out in the room, in-cluded studying which needs high concentration. Based on the preliminary survey held in the fe-male boarding houses located behind the Polytechnic of Health of Yogyakarta, it was found that the average measurement of light intesity was 24,81 lux and most rooms had unsuited room ar-rangement. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between light intensity and room arrangement and the level of studying concentration among the Female Boarding Hou-se of Kajor, by conducting a cross sectional approached survey. There were 60 boarding rooms under the study with 60 students occupant who were selected purposively as the respondents. The light intensity was measured by lux meter, the room arrangement was assessed by a check list and the studying concentration was identified by using a questionnaire. The results show that only 46,7% rooms had adequate light intensity, only 48,3% rooms had suited room arrange-ment, and respondents who had bad concentration outnumbered those who had the good ones. Data analysis with using Spearman rank correlation test at 5% significance level, concludes that both light intensity and room arrangement are significantly have high and positive correlations with studying concentration, i.e. the corresponding ρ coefficients were 0,991 and 0,951, respecti-vely, and the all p-values were below 0,001.

Rumah kos menyewakan kamar yang digunakan untuk tinggal sementara, di mana bagi maha-siswa perantau, tempat itu merupakan rumah ke dua karena hampir segala jenis kegiatan di-lakukan di dalamnya termasuk aktifitas belajar yang membutuhkan konsentrasi. Berdasarkan survei pendahuluan di rumah kos putri yang berada di belakang kampus Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta, diperoleh rerata hasil pengukuran pencahayaan sebesar 24,81 lux dan sebagian besar penataan barang di kamar-kamar kos tersebut kurang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas pencahayaan dan penataan kamar dengan ting-kat konsentrasi belajar di Rumah Kos Putri Kajor dengan melakukan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Ada 60 kamar kos yang diteliti dengan 60 orang penghuni sebagai responden yang diambil secara purposive. Intensitas cahaya diukur dengan lux meter, penataan ruang dinilai dengan check list, dan konsentrasi belajar diketahui melalui kuesioner. Hasil pene-litian menunjukkan bahwa kamar kos yang pencahayaannya memenuhi syarat hanya 46,7% dan yang penataannnya baik hanya 48,3 %, diketahui pula bahwa responden yang konsentrasi belajarnya buruk lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan yang baik. Analisis dengan menggunakan uji korelasi rank Spearman pada taraf signifikansi 5 % menyimpulkan bahwa intensitas pencaha-yaan dan penataan kamar, secara bermakna berhubungan erat dan positif dengan konsentrasi belajar, yaitu masing-masing dengan koefisien ρ sebesar 0,991 dan 0,951, dengan semua nilai p < 0,001.
